Why Holistic Psychotherapy?
In my experience working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual pain, it becomes clear that when treating the whole system, more complete and enduring healing can be achieved.
It is for this reason I prefer to work holistically with my clients. I therefore encourage my clients to work with their doctors, acupuncturists, nutritionists, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers in order to adjust their diet, exercise, and attitudes to promote healing in their bodies. This work will complement our work on the mental, emotional, relational, and energetic aspects of their health.
My holistic psychotherapy method draws on both traditional psychotherapy approaches as well as Energy Health Modalities (EHM). Traditional approaches I use include: psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, the mind-body and energy health modalities include: acupressure, mindfulness, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).
